Beth Gardner, owner of Heart of Texas Gymnastics located in Temple, Texas has an extensive background specializing in preschool gymnastics. In addition to experience as a Preschool Director, coach and gym owner, she is a co-author and director for the Instructor Training Program (ITP) for the Gymnastics Association of Texas (GAT) and serves as a GAT board member.

Beth has served as one of the national instructors for the USAG Kinder Accreditation for Teachers (KAT) and USAG Movement Development and Lesson Plan Development (MELPD) courses and currently serves as a national instructor for the Preschool Fundamentals & HOT training courses. She has served on the USAG Preschool Advisory Board as well as the USAG Safety Review Board. In addition to speaking for USAG National, Regional and State Congresses, she has been a private consultant and clinician specializing in preschool staff training since 1997. Her articles have appeared in Technique magazine and she has compiled her lesson plans and coaching philosophies in numerous books.

As owner of Heart of Texas Gymnastics since 1999, she coaches preschool, recreational and team gymnastics for both men's and women's programs. Beth was extremely honored to received the 2003 and 2007 Distinguished Service Awards from Gymnastics Association of Texas and one of the 2005 Remarkable Woman Awards from ABC Television “The View” for her dedication and contributions to the development of the sport of gymnastics She is a 1983 graduate of Texas A&M University.

Cheryl Jarrett is currently the Junior Olympic Committee Chairman for Region 3 Director of Education for Gymnastics Association of Texas-(GAT) Director of Gymnastics Educational Workshops (GEW) She is one of the current choreographer/author for the USAG compulsory routines for 2005-2013 on Beam and Floor Recently joined the staff of USA Project 2012 - (Road to a College Scholaship -webinar)

She has coached more than 28 years producing many national and international gymnasts. Cheryl has co-authored several manuals on education for gymnastics as well as several publications with USA Gymnastics and GAT. She along with her husband Jim and son Jason own and operate, Capital Gymnastics with 3 locations in Austin, Texas.

Cheryl travels often where she can share her true passion – teaching, helping and educating the future of womens gymnastics. She has twol children, Jason and Julianne.

Topics:

  1. Rhythm and Connections on Beam -
    Rhythm Expectations and Deductions for Connections on Beam ( with Mary Lee Martin)- Come join us Judges and Coaches joining to show ways to improve and evaluate. Sharing ideas and opinions. Coaches learn to train for less deductions while judges see what and why the rhythm and connections.

  2. Artistry and Choreography on Floor - Making routines better. Looking for Artistry, lines, dance passage and being creative. Looking for the fine details that really make a difference. .

  3. Level 5/6 Beam, Bars and Floor-Seeing Good to Best: Paying Attention to Every Detail -( would like a judge to help on this one too) Ever wonder why one routine score better OR how you can improve compulsories to the next level? We will be looking and analyzing why, what, and how.

  4. Drills to take your Athlete from 4-7 - on Beam The compulsory routines are designed so that it is easy to transition a gymnast from one level to the next. Even so, coaches are often looking for ways to prepare their gymnasts for the next level. This session will offer drills and simple circuits that will help prepare Level 4 gymnasts for Level 5 and 6 and 7. These ideas can be easily incorporated into a warm up or event training.
Jim Jarrett has taught gymnastics for over 30 years, producing local, state, regional, national, and international champions. He and his wife, Cheryl, opened their first gymnastics program in 1982 that developed into what is know as Capital Gymnastics today. Capital Gymnastics has evolved from one to as many as 6 locations, employing from 5 to 100 employees each year, and training from 180 to 3000 children at peak enrollment. Jim attributes the success of Capital Gymnastics to the generosity of many mentors, employees, parents, and children. Their support is greatly appreciated. Both Jim and Cheryl are still actively involved in training athletes, coaches, and business owners along with several other businesses endeavors such as iClassPro (World's Greatest Web Base Business Management Program) and Gymnastics Education Workshops (Assisting gymnastics school owners in teaching gymnastics instructors from the grass roots up).

Saturday:
  • Giants - circling skills- Confidence builders, shape development tasks, and productivity training will cut the time of successfully achieving a giant to a minimum.
  • Dismounts- Back layout fly away, front layout fly away, toe fronts, double flipping, twisting and more: What do they all have in common? A journey into the Uneven Bar dismounts.

Sunday:
  • Kips - drills and circuits - The skill of all skills that marks a mile stone in a new gymnast's path to becoming a competitive gymnast. Let's cover a ton of steps to develop the kip.
  • Business: "Increasing Your Bottom Line" Can I increase? Should I increase? If I don't need to increase, how do I maintain? If I want to increase, ho do I?

Gail Royce is the former owner and head coach of High Country Gymnastics in Colorado, where she coached pre-school through national level gymnasts for 20 years. She worked with the US Olympic Committee on the ’93/’94/’95 Olympic Festivals in various capacities and was a member of the event staff for gymnastics at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.

As a Mental Performance Coach Gail has been a presenter for Colorado USAG, Region 3 USA Gymnastics Training Camps and Mini-Congress and the Men’s USAG Jr. National Program Future Stars Training Camp. She is the on-staff mental coach for four Denver area gyms and works with numerous individual gymnasts.

Some of Gail's other athletes include road cycling & mountain bike racers, triathletes, figure skaters, baseball/football/basketball/hockey players, professional racquetball players, NFL football players, karate competitors, Irish Step Dance Teams and International competitive jump rope teams.
